About

I’m Ben de Castella. I work as an Account Planner at Amnesia Razorfish, a digital marketing agency in Sydney.
Next Level Ideas is my personal blog about marketing, technology and anything else that inspires more than 14o characters. At the moment I’m particularly interested in Rory Sutherland and Dan Ariely’s stuff on behavioural economics.
I’m inclined to think that our relationships with brands are impacted just as much by confusing websites and infuriating call centre experiences as they are by big budget TV ads. As marketers, this means thinking beyond simply bombarding people with the same messages and instead trying to figure out what’s in it for them.
I previously worked on research, strategy and account service at Apparent (formerly Ideagarden) in Sydney, focusing on digital and direct marketing for clients like NRMA, Weight Watchers and Roche. Before this, I was a strategic marketing consultant at kae: marketing intelligence in London, advising brands like Nokia, BSkyB and ITV on new proposition development, customer experience and communications strategy.
